23 November 2016: Police in Hong Kong are appealing for information after a young Nepalese girl from London arrived in the city on November 10 only to go missing under mysterious circumstances.
“Gurung Chitra, aged 17, went missing after she arrived at HKIA on November 10 night. Her family made a report to Police on November 14,” said a police press statement issued yesterday.
According to South China Morning Post, the teenager is a Hong Kong permanent identity card holder but used to live in London with her mother. Her mother had, earlier in the month, reported her daughter missing to British Police which in turn advised her that she had actually left for Hong Kong.
Hong Kong Police believes the missing teenager is still in the city with its missing persons unit pouring over security camera footage to trace the girl down, the Post indicated.
According to the report, Ms Gurung’s mother told police that she had a good relationship with her daughter and she did not know why she came to Hong Kong.
