13th NAV Cricket Cup to begin from Sunday, 9 teams participating

The 13th edition of NAV’s Cricket Cup, hosted by Victoria’s beloved association – Nepalese Association of Victoria is scheduled to start from Sunday, 7th January. 9 teams will be contesting against each other this season. The participating teams are The Himalayan Club (A), The Himalayan Club (B), Narre Kings Cricket Club, Sagarmatha Cricket Club (A), Sagarmatha Cricket Club (B), Sagarmatha Cricket Club (C), Gorkhali Cricket Club, Royal Rhinos Cricket Club, and Eastern Blues Cricket Club. According to organizer Gaire, cricket is being pursued and played with great fervor amongst Nepali youth since the past 10 years. The matches will be played at J.C. Donath Reserve, Reservoir, every Sunday from the 7th. Game time shall be 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
NAV is also going to organise the 2nd Multicultural Cricket in April, 2018. The tournament will be supported by Victorian Multicultural Commission and will be played from April 14 to April 29.
“We expect  support from our local community to promote community sports and events”, organizer Gaire said.
