The U.S. Government shutdown has been lifted after Congress passed the bill regarding temporary funding. The Democrats agreed to pass the fund after Republicans promised to debate on the future of the young illegal immigrants at a later date. For now, the U.S. shutdown has officially ended. The U.S. Government was shutdown for 3 days - Saturday, Sunday, and Monday.
US Embassy in Nepal announces closure of American Centre Library:
The heat of the U.S Government shutdown was being felt in Nepal too, with the U.S Embassy in Nepal announcing the closure of the American Centre Library and their inability to update their Twitter feed continuously. Visa applications and interviews were to be happen as scheduled, according to U.S. Embassy Nepal's Twitter.
The shutdown has been reversed yesterday with the Democrat leaders agreeing to back the bill after accepting promises from Republicans for a debate later on the future of young illegal immigrants.
The U.S. Embassy is yet to notify about the future of the American Centre Library.
